I am bringing my parents who are currently living in Colombia to visit me to Washington State, USA and Vancouver, BC Canada for three or four weeks in Sept 2018. I'd like to know what would be the best travel/medical insurance to cover them in both countries. My father's age is 76 -Canadian citizen living in Colombia, and my mother's age is 68 -only a Colombian citizen. The travel dates will most likely be Sept 1st to Sept 25th.
The plans are designed to cove the new accidents and new illness that happen after the effective date of the policy. The plans will not cover pre-existing conditions, routine doctor's visit, immunizations, nor any medications as it relates to medications.
Some plans will cover for what is called an Acute Onset of a pre-existing condition. For those under the age of 69 it will be covered up to the chosen policy maximum. For those 70 and above there is one plan that will cover an acute onset of a pre-existing condition up to $25,000.
For your uncle there is a plan called Safe Travels USA Comprehensive that would be recommended. For your mother in law there is a plan called Atlas America that would be recommended.
