I'm sure that you are being asked this question a lot these days but I am having a hard time understanding - 1) what travel insurance can I purchase today that will cover me for my summer vacation scheduled late July should the COVID19 pandemic prevent us from traveling abroad (Portugal) by US law or local law? If flights get cancelled? 2) if the vacation is cancelled by either local/international law or by the airlines, will I be reimbursed 100% of the cost of flights? 3) If there is such a travel insurance plan, what is it called and do you sell it?
The only type of trip cancellation insurance plan that you could purchase that provide coverage along those lines would be cancel for any reason travel insurance.
One such plan is called Safe Travels First Class. You must purchase it within 10 days of your initial trip deposit, must insure your entire trip cost, must cancel your trip at least two days in advance of your departure date and you get maximum 75% of your trip cost back.
